ALL ABOUT US
The Palladino family has made the Lowcountry home for over a decade after deciding to make the move from New Jersey. The entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in the family tree.
Mom and Dad Deborah and Pete Sr. have owned real estate in the Promenade for years but this is the first shingle they have hung in Bluffton. The idea behind SliderBar is to offer a comfort-food staple — a burger slider — with a variety of new takes with fresh ingredients and a focus on local sourcing.
You will see Pete Jr. and daughter Jessica at the restaurant most days, as Pete is the culinary leader and Jessica oversees the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. Their sister Hillary (far left) is a beloved hair stylist in Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, as well as being SliderBar’s biggest fan.
FOUNDER AND CHIEF OPERATOR
PeTE PALLADINO
From a young age, Pete has been interested in culture and different tastes. His desire to dive into his Italian heritage and learn more about authentic flavor and profiles of Italy led him to work at a series of Italian restaurants under highly-educated chefs.
As he traveled the world and learned more about other cultures, his tool belt grew as his tastes broadened. In addition to being trained by multiple CIA graduates, Pete was introduced to the world of Roman dough under the tutelage of both master pizzaiolo Massimilano Saieva and 2024 “Chopped” champion Rob Cervoni.
Pete is in constant search of unexpected tastes, trying new eateries and getting the thing on the menu that sounds the most different and uncommon.
His goal with SliderBar is to share his world culinary adventures through the dishes he creates; to take you outside your comfort zone to discover a shockingly delicious new fave.
“It’s why we make everything in house from the kitchen to the bar, infusing our own liquors, mixers and syrups and selecting unique craft beers,” Pete said. "My goal is to have the customer say both ‘WTF?’ and ‘Wow, that’s amazing.’”
JESSICA PALLADINO
JACK OF ALL TRADES
Living and working in Bluffton for the past ten years has been a lively opportunity to learn about the land, its stories, and to serve the people who call Bluffton home.
Jessica worked for several wonderful locally-owned F&B venues here as well as internationally — from humble restaurant positions to managerial opportunities. Her love of good food stems from her immigrant grandparents - hardworking cafe owners and farmers.
She has lived all over the world, and her favorite thing about discovering various cultures and lands is the food. A people’s food carries their stories, memories, and various textures and colors instilled within.
Jessica’s aim is to bring that passion and color to her family restaurant to share with Lowcountry neighbors and friends. She wears multiple hats here at Sliderbar, but her favorite place to be is in the kitchen creating with her teammates and family. In her spare time, her favorite activities include tending to her Bluffton hobby farm/wildlife habitat and its rescue animals.
